Road safety is important for Amazon Flex delivery partners and community members alike. As part of Amazon’s Safety at Every Turn campaign, we’re excited to share information about special features in the Amazon Flex app that can help you stay aware of your surroundings while delivering, which keeps you and other road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists, safer.

Maps and navigation features to keep you aware of road conditions

Amazon Flex maps and navigation are designed with your safety in mind. The Amazon Flex navigation system displays speed limits so you can continue to drive safely to and from delivery stations and stops. Remember to always stay alert to roadside speed limit signs and adjust your speed accordingly. Additional features in the Amazon Flex app include a map alert when you enter a school zone, and real-time icons when you are approaching an upcoming intersection. These can help you keep an eye out for pedestrians who may be crossing the road.

Staying mindful of pedestrians and cyclists when navigating to and from delivery stops

‍In addition to Amazon Flex app features, there are important safety precautions you can take to help keep yourself and community members safe while on the road. Cyclists and motorcyclists can be harder to see, especially in your vehicle's blind spots, so always check your mirrors before making turns and never assume you have the right-of-way. When approaching intersections, come to a complete stop before the painted line, count to three, and ensure crosswalks are clear before proceeding. For left turns, wait for oncoming lanes to clear fully, as oncoming traffic has the right-of-way. Remember to be extra cautious around busy intersections and always yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.
