Keeping you safe during severe weather

At Amazon Flex, your safety is our priority. We understand that delivering in severe weather conditions requires extra care, which is why we have implemented several measures to help keep you safe on the road. Here are some ways we support you in the case of severe weather.

‍Weather monitoring

‍We have a dedicated weather team tracking forecasts and delivery-area conditions. We will send you real-time weather updates through the Amazon Flex app to let you know if severe weather is expected and has the potential to impact your delivery block. These updates include information about station closures, and recommendations based on the specific conditions in your area, such as reducing speed during rainy conditions, taking breaks to warm up in cold conditions, or staying hydrated during hot weather.

‍Adjusting your delivery route

‍When severe weather is forecast for your area, we may reduce the number of stops or total distance traveled in your block to give you more time to take safety precautions. We will let you know in advance when we adjust your block, and you will still be paid the full amount for your block. Once weather conditions improve, blocks return to normal.

‍Gear to help you stay safe on the road in severe weather

‍The Amazon Flex Store offers a curated selection of optional safety products, including rain ponchos, touch-screen gloves, ice scrapers and additional tools, available to purchase to help you deliver smarter, safer, and with confidence. In addition, Amazon-branded safety vests are available at no cost to you and have reflective technology so you stay visible to other vehicles, customers, and community members while at the delivery station and on the road.

Always use your best judgement as weather conditions on the ground can change quickly.
